Tim Lewthwaite is the editor of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ (AZA) CONNECT magazine and has been with AZA since the fall of 2004. His life-long interest in wildlife has led to several trips to southern Africa. Favorite national parks he has visited include Etosha National Park in Namibia and Cape Mountain Zebra National Park in South Africa. Tim believes that accredited zoos and aquariums provide their visitors with a unique opportunity to connect with the extraordinary diversity of life on the planet, to explore the growing threats that many species and habitats are facing, and to learn about the remarkable work that is being done to save wildlife and wild places.
